About Me
Hello, my name is Gianna Pronesti. I am an Occupational Therapy graduate student at Sacred Heart University motivated to assist people in being independent and succeeding in their daily lives.
Misson Statement
Being born with a disability, I always knew that I wanted to help others and make a positive impact on someone’s life just like what has been done for me. Choosing the field of Occupational Therapy is exactly that. Selecting this career will allow me to help people, young and old, to achieve a maximum quality of life in all aspects; mental, emotional, and physical. My goal is to work with patients and help reintegrate them into society so that they will be able to thrive and live their lives to the fullest of their potential. Whether a person has an illness, disability, or injury, this occupation will allow me to identify what is prohibiting them from functioning healthily and I will work to the best of my ability to help them overcome their obstacle. My strong desire to support people in gaining back independence in their daily activities seems like a calling for me. I know I must act on this. As a future Occupational Therapist, my desire is to see patients develop the confidence to do things on their own because of my dedication and time spent together. I will always live by this motto “Hope still glimmers in the darkest hour.” This is a true testament as to why I chose to be an Occupational Therapist.
